In and around Manhattan, there's been a growing case of small businesses turning towards generative AI for their branding and advertising needs.
In a town as community and art-centered as Manhattan, it's important to be aware of the negative effects that come with using AI to promote your business. AI has been shown to have a negative impact on business reputation and community image, and it reflects a lack of willingness to invest in your business which in return makes people less likely to trust you.
Additionally, under current US law you cannot copyright any AI generated materials, including logos. So instead of a unique piece of branding, you're getting a formulaic design that doesn't belong to you, and can't represent your business. This website was designed to promote local artists of all mediums and modalities, from traditional art, to murals, to photography/videography, to graphic design, and more! Local businesses are looking for unique branding materials for their website, social media, and promotional use.
The art and graphics that define a business are crucial to their image, reputation, and message. As such, this website has a strict "No AI" policy. Artist cannot use generative AI for any products they plan to market through this site. Anyone found using AI will be asked to show proof of concept or raw versions of their products, and if unable to prove they are not using AI will be removed from the site.

Who's running this thing?
Hi! This site is hosted and managed by me, Bronwyn Laherty.
I am a local filmmaker and videographer based in Manhattan, KS. Through my work as a filmmaker, and in my role on the board of the Manhattan Maker's Guild Inc., I've had the opportunity to explore and share some of the amazing stories that make up the business and art communities of the Little Apple. When those two overlap, I've seen magic happen with my own eyes. But I've also seen what happens when businesses feel like they don't have the resources for original branding, and artists feel disconnected from their client base and community.
My goal with this site is to fix both problems with one resource: a comprehensive collection of talented artists built for small businesses looking to improve their visual aesthetic. Collaborations are an important part of building any business, so shop local, use your community, and get connected!
